About Seed & Song

Seed & Song is a backyard birding site. It exists to help you enjoy more birds right outside your window, without wasting money on feeders that squirrels empty or seed that birds throw on the ground.

There are thousands of bird feeders and gadgets out there, and most buying advice is either overwhelming or thinly disguised advertising. We keep it simple: a handful of clear recommendations per category, honest trade-offs for each, and plain-English tips that make a real difference.

How we pick products

Our recommendations are research-based. We compare specifications, read long-term owner feedback, and weigh what experienced backyard birders and bird conservation organizations consistently recommend. We favor products that are easy to clean, durable and safe for birds. We don't publish star ratings or claim testing we haven't done.

How we make money

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. If you buy something through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That's what keeps the site free. Brands can't pay to be included, and commissions never change our picks. See our full affiliate disclosure.
