Tap a square when you spot it.
How to play
Pick the season and deal a card. When your child spots a bird or one of the things on the card, tap the square (or color it in on a printed card). Three in a row across, down, or diagonally wins. The middle square is free.
Want a longer game? Try to fill the whole card. Deal a different card for each child so everyone is looking for something different, and print a few to keep in the car.
Tip: start near a feeder in the morning, when birds are busiest. Talk about what makes each bird different, like the cardinal's crest or the chickadee's black cap. That's how kids learn to identify birds on their own.

What age is bird bingo for?
About 4 to 10. Pictures mean kids don't need to read, and the 3-by-3 card is quick to finish.
What if we can't find a bird on the card?
Deal a new card, or pick the other season. Hummingbirds and orioles are mostly spring and summer birds, and juncos visit many yards only in winter.
How can we see more birds?
Watch near a feeder in the morning. A window feeder brings birds close enough for small kids to see without binoculars.
